Some weddings just stay with you. Not just because of the stunning location or the beautiful details but because of the people - and this one was extra special. Paul is a good friend of mine, so when he and Chloe asked me to photograph their wedding in the Gower, it was an immediate yes.
Not only was it an honour, but it also meant I got to see their day unfold both as a photographer and a friend - and let me tell you, it was full of emotion, laughter, and the unexpected rainy weather somehow made it all feel even more romantic.
A Gower Wedding with Character
Set against the breath-taking backdrop of the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, Paul and Chloe celebrated their day at the charming King Arthur Hotel in Gower, Swansea. Surrounded by rolling green hills and timeless countryside views, it was the perfect setting for a wedding full of warmth and personality.
The Gower’s rugged beauty was the perfect contrast to the warmth and intimacy of the day. Chloe looked absolutely radiant, and Paul’s reaction as she walked down the aisle was something I’ll never forget.
Rainy Days And Why They Work
Yes, it rained. A lot. It gave the day a moody and romantic atmosphere that felt like it belonged in a film. That’s the beauty of weddings in South Wales - whatever the weather, the emotion always shines through.
A Personal Highlight
Photographing a friend’s wedding is always a different experience. There’s more heart behind the camera, more pride in each frame. Watching Paul say “I do” to Chloe and seeing how deeply they care for each other made every shutter click even more meaningful.
Why I Love Being a Wedding Photographer in South Wales
Weddings like this remind me why I do what I do. South Wales offers such a rich variety of landscapes, and couples like Paul & Chloe bring it to life with their energy and openness. Whether it’s a sunny coastal day or a rain-soaked celebration, it’s all about the connection and capturing that honestly.
Paul & Chloe, thank you for letting me be part of your day, and for trusting me with your memories. It was a joy to photograph, and even more of a joy to witness as your friend.
